Watch Where You Park!
The bay area and all of the west coast kicked off the new year with a series huge winter storms (we're not done yet). The second storm unleashed tons of rain and wind, toppling plenty of trees on power lines - and a few cars. Hyde street in Russian Hill is lined with huge ficus trees with overgrown canopies and the type of storm we just had is the kind that tends to break off their big branches. So even though parking is tough in this neighborhood, it's not advisable to park anywhere near these trees in a storm. Luckily we were parked on a street with no trees. Not so lucky for the person who's car is in this photo.
